Our Journey
Hello! I’m Janelle Funari, founder of Funari New York, an eco-couture fashion brand based in New York City. I launched Maxine Avenue NYC as a fun and practical solution for my sweet Maxine the Frenchie. Together, Maxine and I created sustainable and functional pet apparel and accessories by using the remaining organic and recycled fabrics from our Funari collections.
Fashion with a Purpose
One of the main missions of Maxine Avenue NYC is to use materials that are good for the earth and your pet’s skin. We design with only the highest quality, eco-friendly materials including organic, hypo-allergenic, and recycled fabrics sourced from around the globe. With the help of Maxine and our furry fit models, we thoughtfully craft each piece with a dog’s size, shape, and skin in mind, We then add functional elements in fun designs and colors to keep each dog active while looking amazing throughout their daily adventures.
Constant Innovation
Maxine Avenue NYC began as an extension of my Funari New York Runway Collection, designing Mini-Me Pup Couture pieces to complement our men's and women’s line.. As we grow, we are inspired every day to deliver comfort, quality, and unique fashion to pets around the world.

Eco-friendly & Recycled Fibers
Our products are made from organic, recycled, and sustainable fabrics from around the globe. These include recycled rayon, Poliamide (recycled from bottles), Organic Supima Cotton (California), Organic Pima Cotton (Peru) and Micro modal Rayon. From our bio-degradable packaging to recycled labels and tags, our passion for helping the environment extends to all parts of our brand
Fashion for Good
We pay it forward with our donation program. Working with pet rescues and shelters to help adoptable animals show their best sides, each gently used apparel & harness can be donated to help an animal find a forever home.
